"Santa Klaus" Visits the School Early This Year!

Mr. Klaus Pfaender, a committed supporter of the Tapulanga Foundation, came up with a great idea to celebrate his milestone birthday in Spain. In lieu of gifts, Mr. Pfaender asked his friends and family to donate to the Tapulanga Foundation instead. On top of that, he also decided to match the total gifts he received thus making a generous donation to the foundation.

On behalf of all the students, faculty and staff of St. Francis of Assisi School of Silay City Foundation, Inc., thank you to Mr. Pfaender for the IMMENSE blessing he showered upon the school with this great gesture. We thank him for making the foundation a beneficiary during his birthday. And we thank all of his generous friends as well who made such a blessing possible.

This is by far the biggest donation the foundation has ever received. Mr. Pfaender's donation provided for the following:

our very first 47 inch flat screen LED TV, a home theater system with a new dvd player
and two airconditioners for our Audio-Visual Room,

two computers for our Computer Laboratory,

and two college scholarship grants to be awarded in March 2012.
Mr. Pfaendar is "Santa Klaus" to SFAS, bearing lots of gifts to our school!

This has been a much-needed upgrade to our Audio-Visual Room. For many years, we have been holding film screenings using a small 21-inch television for a class of 40 students and a karaoke machine as our sound system. This was definitely a birthday gift that will continue to give for years to come.

Dankeschon, Sir Klaus and to your friends and family!

Yup, the new tv and home theater system are perfect! It's captivating! Students don't get distracted or bored anymore because it's just visually grand. - Sir JR Abello, Social Studies teacher who regularly holds film showing classes

A MUCH HAPPY SURPRISE TO US when I received an email from one of the donors saying that her boyfriend wants to donate a laptop to the teachers of St. Francis of Assisi School of Silay City!

A Special Thank You!

Thank You!

On this special day of Easter, we wish to thank all our generous donors who have made our mission possible. And today we are welcoming new donors and their scholars from the 35 scholars in 35 days challenge. We exceeded our goal beyond our expectations and words are not enough to express our appreciation for your kindness. From our original goal of 35 scholarships in 35 days, we were blessed with 60 scholarships in 10 days.

Your generosity is going to change the lives of these students forever, and that is something we wish all of you would take heart and be joyful about especially on this special day of Easter, a day when new hope and new life are celebrated the world over.

For those of you who have children, we hope you will share this scholarship experience with them. We can't think of a more important value to instill in our children than the desire to help others.

Again, salamat gid and God bless you!

The 35 Scholars in 35 Days Challenge

Can you help us make a difference in the life of a child today?

The Tapulanga Foundation is gearing up for the new school year once again. With the continuing success of our programs and the quality of education at St. Francis of Assisi School, more families are in need of assistance.

Click here to see the profiles of our new scholars.

We have 35 new scholars ready to start school in June. They have passed their entrance exams and our challenge is to find a sponsor for these deserving students - all 35 of them. Within 35 days. For as little as $25 or Php1,000/month, you can send a scholar to school for a year (school supplies, lunch, uniform and books included). You will get to know your scholar personally through letters and 100% of your donation goes directly towards their education.

**This program ends on May 18, 2011. Please forward this to at least 3-5 friends and be a part of The 35 Scholars In 35 Days Challenge! Each donor will be acknowledged on our facebook page along with a photo of their scholar. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - all donations are tax-deductible.**

Fundraiser Seminar in Negros

To NGOs in Negros (from Mic Abello Golez):

Greetings of Peace!

Several years ago, I attended a seminar on the Basic of Fund Raising in Manila. It cost the foundation more than Php12,000 for the seminar fee, airfare and lodging. Nevertheless, every peso spent by the foundation was worth it as it brought back to the foundation thousands of pesos more!

I would constantly invite people I know who are into fund raising as well to attend the seminar but their usual response is this: “Our group just can’t afford.”

As Tapulanga Foundation celebrates 10 blessed years of an increasing and growing donor base, we have decided to SHARE this blessing to others. We are but a small organization and we know many can relate to us. Surprisingly, many take it for granted or are not aware that there are lessons to be learned in raising funds. Many fail or have a hard time raising funds because they lack the know-how on how to do it.

Fundraising is something that most non-profits and NGOs aspire to do well so we put together this seminar with experts who can share their knowledge and experience to the community. It is our hope as well that you have something to share, your experience in fund raising in your own way, that can help all of us.

I hope that you will be able to join us and learn a lot and go home with a renewed spirit to raise more funds for your organization.

Sincerely,

Ma. Carmela “Micmic” Abello-Golez
